Wellness

Nana Amoako-Anin is the founder of Bliss Yoga Accra, a pioneering yoga studio in Accra, Ghana. Credited with having an immutable influence on the growth of the wellness ecosystem in Ghana, when it opened in 2013, Bliss Yoga Accra, an 800-member community, has cemented yoga, as a lifestyle in Ghana and beyond its borders.

Research & Training

Building Bliss Yoga Accra from the ground up, she moves far beyond the metrics of class visits. An expert in the business behind and beyond yoga, Nana has developed a diversity-centred 200-HR Yoga Teacher Training that seeks to train and mentor future wellness leaders, licensing 160 practitioners over the past decade. Her studio is leading an evaluative well-being study, exploring the dynamics of inclusion, race, gender identity, the economics of care, and mental health considerations in wellness spaces in Ghana.

Impact

Her work has taken her far. In 2020, the Tony Elumelu Foundation named her Entrepreneur of the Year. In 2023, she was invited by the Biden/Harris White House, during Kamala Harris' historic trip to Accra, as part of a roundtable of 6 leading Ghanaian businesswomen convened to address the future of entrepreneurship on the continent. Her journey has earned her features in prominent media outlets, including CNN, BBC World News, Travel Noire, TEDx Accra, & Oprah (O) Magazine.
